Inverters and Appliance / Equipment Problems

Most of the inverter literature mentions that some appliances or equipment may
not work with the modified sine wave inverters. Has anyone encountered any such
problems and could you explain what type of equipment it was? I'm specifically
concerned about printers, and variable speed tools such as a Dremmel tool and
re-chargable drills

Hi Roger,
I have a Trace inverter, & I have not had any problems charging or running
appliances. However, I haven't used any variable speed tools.Most of my tools
are cordless, even the Dremel,which I love

The only problem I do have is with equipment that has a very low power draw. The
inverter will not sense the low AC power & won't turn on. Then I have to turn on
another appliance to get the inverter to go on. I will try a variable speed tool
tommorrow and let you know what happens

Hi Roger
I had a Heart and the only thing I had a problem with was a Hair trimmer. My
variable speed drill worked fine. So did an electric heater, a small one. Hope
this helps.
