Winter Sailing

Post by thinwater »

For those of you "on the hard" in colder climates, I have posted a bit on winter sailing on my blog. I am located just south of Annapolis and have sailed there every winter for 20 years. For a few weeks, now and then, the water gets a bit too hard. I chopped through ice today, but that may be it for a while; I had to go very slowly in the harbor as there was a thin coating here and there.

There is also a bit of PDQ 32-specific stuff. Most is more general.

Though it wasn't warm, it was quiet and there was no need to sweat. The cabin was a nice 70F (new cabin heater). It is different in the winter - not better of worse than a July day - just different. Sort of like a cabin in the mountains in the winter... that sways.

I should note, I suppose, that I go back and edit informational posts, like this one, every time a new expereince suggests I should. Most of my work on this blog seems to be editing past posts to make them better. Whether about jacklines or installing a heater, it seems that small changes suggest themselves for months.
