PDQ 32 capsizes off California coast

PDQ issues applicable across all PDQ Yachts (or if you can't find a place for something, it probably belongs here for now)

PDQ 32 capsizes off California coast

Post by philiprmcgovern »

Terry Green brought this incident to our attention and tells us that the correct name of the boat is "Catalyst" and not "Calypso" as this article says:

http://www.mercurynews.com/california/c ... urce=email

Even though the article doesn't say so, it was a PDQ and it apparently flipped over in some fairly heavy seas. There is, of course, a youtube video of the CG rescue of the three survivors, but nothing about the boat itself.

If anyone knows more about this incident and it's cause, please let us know. If there are any "lessons learned" about what caused the capsize, I'd like to know what they are.

Thanks.
