Annapolis Area PDQ Winter Sailing Get-Together

Post by thinwater »

I was disappointed to miss the fall get-together in Annapolis; my daughter and I had terrible colds that weren't worth sharing. Now that the worst of the winter is passed--my boat is not likely to get frozen in and the temperatures are routinely passing 40F--I thought I would gauge interest in an afternoon of sailing and telling lies.

* I keep my boat in all year and have been taking her out. She is ready.
* I do have heat for the cabin (propane) and windscreens.
* It all depends on the wind. Next weekend may be a bit brisk, since is it less appealing to work hard when it's cold.
* I'm actually in Deale, not Annapolis.

Your thoughts? Some of you I'm sure think I'm nuts. OK. But with the heat on and some hot chocolate I thought it might be an interesting off-season diversion. We'll try not to work too hard.

I've got a better idea. Come down to Florida and we'll take the DogHouse out for a sail. The weather here is a bit more hospitable. (I have the top down on my Jeep today).

You could call it a business trip because our holding tank is in need of some "research" :?

I'm in Jacksonville today, and it aint that hospitable. Home's only 5 degrees cooler, without the rain.

Keep coming a little further south. JAX is usually more then a few degrees cooler than MCO.

Beer's cold in the fridge and the dock lines are itching to be let go. Just let me know when you're coming.

I'd be up for a sail one day, or even a meal at Happy Harbor - just over the bridge, or lunch in Pentagon City one day as an option. We are moving to Annapolis over the next 10 days and then flying to BVI until the 15th of March for a sailing charter. Anytime after that is good by me.
