Need doors for pdq 36 cabins/berths

PDQ issues applicable across all PDQ Yachts (or if you can't find a place for something, it probably belongs here for now)

Need doors for pdq 36 cabins/berths

Post by chrispeck »

Our PDQ 36 came to us without any doors except for the head. Any ideas on where to find used/replacement doors for forward cabins/berths?

Ours was the same way. My wife made curtains, so that airflow is not inhibited. If you want to buy a prefinished panel that matches, the closest we have found (and its practically identical) is Decora Cabinets/light cherry/Wheatfield color. ( http://www.decoracabinets.com ) If you find a kitchen cabinet company that sells Decora, or can match the color, then you can buy panels and cut them. You can also buy veneer to glue on the edging of the door. But, these panels will weigh much more than the original doors that were cored to be lighter.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help on doors for PDQ 36 cabins. We're going for some kind of screen, too.

You might try living without any. I removed mine 1999, except for the head and haven't missed them.
