Shameless Book Plug

As many of you know, I've written a lot for Practical sailor and Good Old Boat, over 100 articles over the past 5 years. Unsurprisingly, my PDQ features in most of it, at least in the background as test bed. However, much of the best stuff never made it to magazines; it was either too boat-specific or too complicated to be fit into 4 glossy pictures and 4 pages of punchy magazine-style writing. And so, over the past year, I have written a number of books. None of this is copied from other texts--this is all stuff I've tested and use. It is my nature.

Needless to say, there is a slight PDQ slant and some details are PDQ-specific.

* Singlehanded Sailing for the Coastal Cruiser. Most of my sailing has always been alone, and as a result, I've learned to make it easy.
* Faster Cruising for the Coastal Sailor. I have one of the more souped-up PDQ 32s, stretched to 34 feet, with keel mods and sail tweaks. But mostly the book is about how to sail a PDQ quickly and easily. I'm no racer, I just like moving efficiently.
* Keeping a Cruising Boat for Peanuts. I'm all about DIY and spreading money thin. Lots of cost saving tips and DIY projects, all of them tested on a PDQ.
* Circumnavigating the Delmarva Peninsula--A Guide for the Shoal Draft Cruiser. This was first written some years ago, when I first started cruising on my Stiletto 27 with my then-little girl. Of interest to Chesapeake Bay area sailors.
* Rigging Modern Anchors. This one will be in print, but the details are still being worked out. I'm really proud of the way it came out, the result of a lot of anchor testing, dispelling many myths and quantifying much that had been only guessed at. I've had it reviewed by a number of major anchor manufacturers--a lot of the comments were of the form "you know, I never thought of it that way, but I can see you are right. We never tested that."

Perhaps you will find something interesting.

PS. There should be a detailed article in Good Old Boat on installing AC in a PDQ 32 in a few months. I like Dometic.

I have the first 3 books in the original post. They are very good reading for a PDQ owner. Drew does a very good job and not leaving out ANY detail.

I downloaded them into Kindle.
