Diameter of 9.9 prop

Post by Ed Ellis »

Can anyone tell me what the diameter of the Yahama 9.9 prop is? It appears to be extra large for extra thrust.

You should carry a spare. Sooner or later you WILL need it. The hubs slip when the props get old or you tangle with a crab pot and the engine becomes useless. I have found it almost as expensive to have them re-hubbed as purchase new.

Hi Marc
Since you have the P/N you must have "been there, done that!"

Ed, check out http://www.boats.net and go to Yamaha parts. Click parts, Click OEM Yamaha outboard parts, enter outboard, then year, then model (T9.9EXH?) then select Lower Casing Drive. You will find every part of the engine and some attractive prices but I have never ordered from them.

Very good idea to carry a spare. How obvious yet it never occured to me. Duh! I wonder what other obvious spares I've overlooked.
Spark plugs I'm good on, plus a list of parts gleamed from all the engine problems people have had, but most of those items were not obvious thigs to take along (at least not obvious to me).
