Tachometer help needed

Posted by Rich TAnner on June 02, 19100 at 06:02:40:

I am going to add two tach's, and the one ( dual scale) I bought is incompatable
with the Yahama's

Does amyone know which types are compatible, and is anyone aware of any dual
tachs available?
I also need to know which wire is the tach lead. The local dealers want me to
bring the engine in so they can look at it before they can tell me which wire I
need

Thanks for any help

I Will double check it and get back to you. I bought it through Overtones
cataloge. I used a green and white wire even though the directions told me to
use a green wire. Not cutting into any wires was really high on my priority
list

If I were doing it again, I would probably try to find one of those small ones
on the Personal Water Craft. The hardest thing was trying to get someone to tell
me the pole settings that the Yahama uses

More later, Dan Hofmann Duet.

Hi Rich - We installed (on "MOJO") two Yamaha tach units. Very simple
installation and straight forward wiring. Best/Jack Coulter

There is some info about this from Dan Hoffman in the "Yamaha 4-stroke ?" thread
of 9/14/99

Dan, can you tell us specifically which tach you bought?
