Hi Don. I just drained my new (2005) engines for the first time and one was milky. I too thought that a seal must be leaking but I had a mechanic do a vacuum and presure test and it turned out fine. One of the fiber washers on the screws was compressed flat and he thought that could have been the problem. You might check to see if you have any fishing line wrapped behind the prop and interfering with the seal.

An outboard mechanic can do the tests at your boat... mine charged $30 for both engines.

Hey Ron, how ya doing?

No Line on the prop and probably not 800 hours on the motor. Hell of a lot better mechanic raetes up there. Do you know if they can do the test if the lower ubit is taken in?

Yes, they should be able to test it on the bench.
