Has anyone had problems with the Yamaha kicking up when puting it in reverse
quickly? Have you solved the problem?

Hi Larry & Sharon,
Why do you want to go backwards?
As Roger said, the tilt locks either get misaligned (side to side) or more
likely stick in the release position. I have used copious amounts of WD40 to
keep them working but they still hang up frequently. To work on the system is a
bear. It requires removing the engine and then removing the long bolt holding
the tilt brackets after which all the parts fall all over the place. Good Luck!!

Larry;
The locking mechanism is not engaging. Sometimes the lock release lever slides
to starboard and becomes misaligned with the lug on the motor that releases the
lock when the motor is raised

When the motors are lowered you should hear the lock engage. A loud click. If
you do hear the click check the lock lever an pull it into the up position

Roger
