T9.9 Electrical Wiring Diagram needed

Post by Phenix-former-owner »

I have the 1995 T9.9 4-stroke and I have misplace my service manual. In it, I know there is an electrical wiring diagram. It is not in the owners manual, only the service manual.

Does anyone know where this diagram is available online, or alternatively, would someone be willing to scan the page or two with the diagram and send it to me?

Thanks.

Not sure where I got this but I think it's what you want:

I have an electrical failure of some problem (no spark), and my mechanic is also looking for info on the specific values for
each component in order to test. He thinks this is in the service manual, so if anyone has that info too, I'd appreciate it.

CDI Voltage (Orange to Black) with circuit open should be about 95 volts while cranking

Charge coil (Brown to Blue) 100 volts open circuit while cranking

Pulser coil (White/red to Black) 4.0 volts open circuit while cranking.

You can also check the two coils by measuring continuity across it; an open is bad but a short with some resistance MIGHT be good, check voltage then.

It might be a good idea to carry a known good spare ignition coil, CDI unit, charge coil, and pulser coil as spares if you're cruising. Then you can just swap each one until it works again.

Phenix: If Tom's info is not sufficient I had Rebecca bring home (to the boat) the scanner and I can look through the manual to scan the pages you need.

Tom: Please see my Spare Parts thread.

Tom: THANK YOU very much, I have emailed your message to my mechanic.

Mike: Yes, I would love to have that page(s) with the electrical info. Thanks!

It's a Chicago thing I guess.

Because I'm the one who borrowed his manual then misplaced it! :(
