1) Is their an alternative, to releasing the engine lock in order to raise it,
from bending below?
2) Has anyone added insulation to reduce engine noise on the PDQ 36
3) Has anyone added insullation to reduce noise from the refrig motor, which on
my boat is installed behind and under the port side seats in the main salon
Thanks

I assume you have a 36, since the 32's have a lanyard that you pull to release
the motor locks

You can arrange the same set up on the 36. You need 2- 4' peices of 5/16 line, 2
small pulleys and two knobs to go on the pull end of the lines

I secured the end of the line to the motor lock bracket with two size 6
Dual-lock snaps. (Drill a small hole into the lock bracket.) The same that you
use to attach fishing lures. The line is then routed down through the pulley
that is secured to the bottom of the engine well and up through the front panel
of the engine well. Attach the plastic knob to the end of the line or tie a
stopper knot in the line

Pull the line the motor lock releases. You will not have to climb into the
engine locker to unlock the motor
