New Yamaha 9.9 recall notice

Post by Lady of the Lake »

For anyone that purchased new Yamaha 9.9 engines with the new style round fuel connector, you should have received a notice from Yamaha about a recall on that connector. I spoke with Andy at Shipyard Island today and he has access to parts and will ship them to you regardless of whether you bought the new engines from him or not. He tells me that it can be done without pulling the motors, I plan to replace the fuel connectors myself. Here is what you need to do. Please send Andy an email at andyjr@shipyardisland.com and provide the following in the email:

Engine serial numbers
Engine hours
Your shipping address

Probably something that you should do sooner than later, seems there have been some fuel leak issues.

Actually, Yamaha will pay for the local dealer to do the service at the marina.
