9.9 parts

I think I have finally traced that problem I mentioned earlier on the site to
the Stator. But then the test procedures leave a little room for error. Does any
one have a servicable stator they are willing to part with? I would like to
check it out before Paying the big bucks for a new one.

Chet, That would be Fantastic! Ship it second day delivery or what ever is
easiest for you and I will send it back as soon as I can test it out. My
charging coil's have the same signs but not as bad

Let me know the shipping cost and I will send you a check in the return package

Hi Dan,
First, did you check out the CDI? It is always a likely culprit with strange
symtoms.

I have the stator I wore on my New Years funny hat at Hendersons. It is a
working spare I could send you butI would like it back.( No, not for the hat)

Did you check the resistance (Ohms) of the charging coil? Thats how I traced a
bad stator on my 97 model 9.9 when it suddenly just quit after running perfectly
for about 500hrs. The resistance was really high and when the flywheel was
removed the two charging coils were burnt black. Yamaha replaced it under
warranty

Good Luck,
Chet
