I've found a used 9.9 that hs a total of 5 or 10 hours on it, even though its 4 years old. What do you think its worth? It was set up as a kicker on a 25 foot fishing boat, and rarely used. It looks new from the outside, but I can only guess whats inside. It was probably used in saltwater.

I paid US $2,000 in Canada two years ago for a similar engine but it was only 6 months old. If the engine you are talking about was used in salt water and not flushed with fresh water after use and let sit for four years it could have problems. It could also have problems if old gas was left in the carborator for a long period of time. My suggestion is to run it to insure no problems.

Thanks Lee. My starboard engine's oil looks like coffee with a little cream in it, so its going to get overhauled this winter. I'm going to get the engine I asked about after I see it run, thanks to your suggestion!
