Replacing the Yamahas

Post by SteppingStone »

Does anyone have a suggestion as to the best place to purchase new 9.9 Yamaha outboards to replace my originals?

You may have trouble locating the long shaft model this time of year. Distant Music & I purchased four engines last year (Oct) from Ingman Marine in Port Charlotte, Fl but it took 3 months to get them. Roger Ford (Kokomo) recently purchased a new 2005 model from Boatune in Orlando, Fl but returned it because it would not fit in the well. I believe he said Yamaha had made changes to inlude a new spin-on oil filter resulting in a larger cover.

What engines are being supplied to new PDQs? Have they modified the engine compartments?

Yamaha Outboards

PDQ is still suppling the 36 with Yamaha outboards. They are available from a Canadian supplier, Seaway Marine, and they do stock parts as well. They can be reached directly at (905) 721-2121.

They have resently moved but I believe this number still works.
