Farmers Markets - Palm Beach County

Post by Cat Tales »

A good place to stop for some inexpensive fresh produce along the ICW is either Delray Beach or Boca Raton in southern Palm Beach County, Florida. Delray has a free city dock, just north of the Atlantic Ave. bridge, which allows a maximum 4 hour tie-up (although I've never seen anyone police it). The farmers market is every Saturday from 0800 - 1300, about 1/2 mile west on Atlantic Ave.

The better choice is the anchorage at Lake Boca Raton, which is between the Palmetto Park Bridge and the Camino Real Bridge. The anchorage is comfortable with good holding. The Boca Raton inlet (local knowledge is necessary) is also on the east side of Camino Real. There is a dock with a boat launch at the Palmetto Park bridge and the framers market is about a 1/2 west of the anchorage, at Royal Palm Plaza. It is also every Saturday from 0800 - 1300. Kelly & I found quality products better than Publix at about a 35%-40% savings.

Both cities have restaurants and shops within that 1/2 mile range and an active night life. The farmers markets are active from Nov. - April/May
