Delmarva / Chesapeake Blog

Post by thinwater »

I very recently decided to start a blog for some of my stories and such. The last bit I posted was about the delivery trip with my new PDQ this winter over the Christmas holidays, and so it occurred to me this might be of interest to PDQ sailors. The blog will center around the Delmarva and Chesapeake, and there seems to be a population of us here. I'm sure more PDQ adventures will follow, but most will wait for warm spring temperatures!

A few years ago I was bitten by the cruising bug, but all I owned was a Stiletto 27. I had been sailing it for a dozen years already so I felt very comfortable within it's limitations, but I lacked the crew and good company to go far. When my daughter turned 10 I realized I had found both, and we started going further; eventually around the Delmarva 3 times and by-and-by I wrote a guide book for the area. "Circumnavigating the Delmarva Peninsula - A Guide for the Shoal Draft Sailor" is available through www.Alibris.com. Then I researched and wrote a few pieces for Practical Sailor on fuels, and wrote a few things for sailing magazines about my adventures with my daughter. I started out, 30 years ago, as an engineer that avoided writing - now it has become a favorite out let. How things change.
Writing full time since 2014.
