Has anyone had trouble with the Customs folks wanting to charge duty on the
stuff you bring in for the trip down? I had a problem recently when I went up to
see the boat and took some items up. Is there a place on the US side where short
term storage is available?

When we were concerned about the stuff we were taking up to Whitby for the
return trip through Oswego we made up a reasonbly detailed list beforehand and
had it duly certified, stamped, recorded, etc., when we exited the US (at US
Customs at Thousand Islands)

This satisfied the inspecting customs officer in Oswego on the way home with the
boat

It also eased the way with the Canadian customs on the way in to Canada. It's
useful to stress that the goods are going on a round trip and are not being left
up there.

We had no problem in bringing in sailing gear for the trip home with emphasis
that it wasn't staying in Canada. Lynn at PDQ was the expert on how to handle
customs issues. We did not bring in any food. We provisioned in Whitby! You
could check at the marina in Oswego to see if they have a place to leave
something; however, it is a small marina and office - but friendly!!!
