Hurricane Isabel

Just was able to check on our boat, on Middle River just off the Chesapeake

Made it through OK, despite a tremendous storm surge and power failure. I wished
all night long I was in a wider slip with floating piers

Most boats on shore were knocked off their cradles from the high water levels

Everyone else OK?

Harborview Marina in baltimore and Kokomo did well. The surge brought the water
to within 4 ft. of the pilings but that was as close as it got. The highest wind
we saw was 36 knots - but we are very protected. Inner Harbor Marina's docks
went over the pilings and many boats vacated at 4AM and just motored around the
area until first light. We took in two 50+ footers...

Tanah Keeta (36089) rode out Isabel with no damage and just one line with chafe
damage. She is here in Washington, NC on the Pamlico River in a 30 ft wide slip

The eye went directly over us.

Hi Dan, I also rode out Isabel on the Middle River, at Frog Mortar Creek, a
hurricane hole. The wind never exceeded 30 kt there. Except for the surge, it
was a piece of cake. Location is everything
