Hi Guys - just delivered my Gemini 3400 from Oriental, NC to Gloucester, Va

Other than an occasional branch floating, especially on the Aligator, everything
is normal. Spent a day in Norfolk at Tidewater Marina, the water taxi is very
inexpensive and handy. I'm the broker for Deaton Yachts in Oriental, and
everything here is back to norm. The fuel docks at Whitaker Creek and Oriental
Marina are open and operating. If you stop in Oriental, pls give me a call,
although I will be away from Nov 1 through the 20th picking up "mojo" our new
PDQ 36 in Whitby and bringing her home to NC. Remember Oriental has free town
docks that are very nice, but they don't have water or elec. at least the price
is right. Very good boat suplly store on the waterfront and several good
resturants and watering holes. The anchorage is superb and we have a new dinghy
dock. Good luck with your trip, I think you're going to be a lot warmer than
us!!! Jack @ 800 401 1195 or local 249 0090 (the coffee pot is on by 0830) Best
Regards/Jack Coulter "mojo" hull # 78

I can't comment on the ICW. However, Richard and I were interested in how far
down the ditch you were planning on going. If you get to South Florida, please
contact us so we can get together. We live in the Ft. Lauderdale area and the
boat lives in Miami. Have a great trip!
Harriet

I live just off the ICW at Pamlico river. I have heard both Riverforest and
Dowrey Creek (at the Pongo) taking reservations. I was at Oriental a week ago
and it was empty. They had had there fuel pumps destroyed and I don't know if
they are working again. Watch out for logs and stumps floating. We have had two
tree stumps with roots float into our marina

All the flooding you see on the news does not effect the coastal communities as
our flooding was just the surge and was gone 4 hours after the storm. We went
south after Fran and my advice would be to keep on the top half of your tank

Good luck
