"the "MOJO" adventure

Hi Guys, our new 36 (hull #78) is not smiling in the warm NC waters. Had a
beautiful trip, other than the cold!! Got underway out of Whitby about 5:00 pm
with two of my sailing buddies, so we stood 1 on and two off all the first
night. The conversation centered aroung how long a person can last in Lake
Ontario in 20 degree ambiant air temp. My option was to shoot myself with the
rifle before hitting the water!! Went through Customs and Immigration at Oswego,
and started the "lock" marathon. The boat performance was "outstanding". The
team of "Dave" and "James" at PDQ did an exceptional job of final boat prep to
get us on our way. These folks are true professionals. Had the mast stepped at a
small marina in the Hudson and turned her into a sail boat. The trip (my first)
down the Hudson was breathtakingly beautiful. I had changed crew when we stepped
the mast and now had an old University of Tennessee budddy with me. His idea of
morning coffee was heating up a pot of Baileys Irish Cream, this was to combat
the cold. Went through NYC under the genoa at about 12 knots, got to see the
Sony Playstation super catamaran in Manhattan. Off shore the boat really shined!
None of the bridge deck slaming from my former catamaran. Got to Annapolis and
had a couple of small items taken care of. Todd at Chesapeake Catamarans is
truly a class act, even as cold as it was, I had Todd upside down correcting a
small water heater adjustment. From Annapolis to Solomons we had wind of 25
knots gusting to low 30s. the boat absolutely surfed under the headsail alone

GPS speed (tops) was 14.2knots, this I got a photo of for my skeptical mono hull
friends. Again, thisw was just with the headsail!! I was tripping!!! Got into
Norfolk harbor at midnight, real fun sorting out the lights and dodging ships

Came down the ICW from Norfolk and now "MOJO" is now at our yard awaiting the
installation of AC/Heat the radar and so on. The boat performed way beyond
anything I had expected, hopefully everything will be ready to go for out
planned trip to Bermuda in April or May, would love to be accompanied by some
other PDQs!! Best Regards/Jack
