Tom, I had to cut about 1/8" off of one inside edge & then put the unit in
sideways & turn it to the correct position inside the lazarette. I built a shelf
where the old heater was & sat it on that. It definitly takes room away from the
locker, but I'm able to get everything back in,except me. With the old heater I
could climb in to work, now I have to lay on the deck & reach inside

If you're located on the upper Chesapeake, I would be happy to show you what I
did

Marc,
Did you have to cut up the lazarette hatch to get the new unit in ? The
measurements they post on their web site are too big to get down in our hatch

We have been in limbo as to what to do with our water heater since early april
when ours rusted through. I am not to keen on the idea of having to cut up the
hatch and deck to get the new unit down in there. Can you share any of your
experiences in replacing yours ?
Tom

Had a Paloma on my last boat. It was OK, but it had to be lit manually. I had to
replace my old Wolter last year. I bit the bullet & got a Precision Temp from
Jerry Wolter

This doesn't specifically answer your question, but you might get *some* info by
doing a search for the word ... heater ... at the link below. This link is also
