Holding Tank Monitoring

We were about to install a monitoring system on our holding tank on our 36, and
discovered that there is no external access to it. The system requires a set of
sensors mounted externally. We're looking for solutions (ie. a PVC tube inserted
into the tank), but need to know precise dimensions including depth, and if it
is possible to penetrate the tank in this manner.

Terry,
On our last boat, we were able to get a transducer sensor for the holding tank
that you just glassed to the top of the tank. No holes were required for it to
work. The down side was that you had to calibrate in manually the first time,
but that wasn't a big deal. Basically, we made sure the tank was empty, adjusted
the sensor to the low point, and then filled it up with water to half way and
then all the way, adjusting the sensor each time. I'll look around and see if I
can find the name of the manufacturer

Goodluck,
Tom
