Flag Mounting Question

Post by phild »

Where is your US flag mounted? What do you use for a holder? Arabella's previous owner removed the flag holder at the time of delivery! I'd like to mount mine on the railing holding the bench seat but I'm having a heck of a time finding anything that will work! Any thoughts/pictures would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have mine on the top of my bimini. There is a rail mount in the West Marine catalog for 7/8 in to 1 in diam rails.

You can also mount it on the port backstay with two zip ties.

I like the backstay idea, it has worked well for us. Zip ties work well, but recently we have switched to the little spring loaded clips that they sell at West and other marine stores since they allow quick removal of the flag during high winds and such. I am going through way too may tattered flags...

I have a small block mounted about 6ft up the port backstay. We then use a small line with clips to raise the flag and tie it off to a small cleat clamped the lower part of the backstay.
