Interior salon window trim

Post by Bob »

Well we tackled replacement of the trim around the salon windows last weekend and am pleased to report that it is easy. I purchased a sheet of Seaboard (20" x 96", $105) from Hamilton Marine and set up some jigs on the table saw to mill the shapes. The original face flange is 5/8" but I used 1/2" and it covered fine. The job is easier with two people but otherwise just use a heat gun and bend into place. BTW Simon was right in that most of the board ended up in a pile of shavings on the shop floor. I think I'll have a little left for some shelving project in the galley.
