It seems that the shower sump pump never quite gets all the water out, and I can live with that... However, what really drives my wife nuts is that when we get underway, a small amount of water comes back in thru the floor drain. Not a lot, but just enough to get your feet wet when you step into the head area.
I installed a small check valve, but that doesn’t even stop the problem...
Anyone have the same issue?
Thanks,

Re: Water Coming in the Shower Drain
Yup. No resolution, really. The water has to push up and out, and if there is ANY leakage....
I have found it helps if I run the pump and extra 30 seconds or so, and to push ALL of the water on the floor into the drain with my barefoot or hands. But no promises.
Keeping floor mats in the hall helps.

Re: Water Coming in the Shower Drain
We have the same issue on "DreamCatcher'. When we come down the Pacific side of Baja in March the seas were rough and we hade water coming up the shower drain and the galley and head sinks as well. Remembering the rubber stoppers in the sinks helped. We have a dri-deck mat on the floor so it is not too much of an issue. Maybe a plug in the shower drain would help.

Re: Water Coming in the Shower Drain
The problem comes from waves hitting in the exit port area. I solved the problem by adding a bit of hose so the drain water gets pumped high in the forepeak and then back down to the exit port. This way water coming back into the drain port must go up before it can run down the hose. I have not had a problem since making this change.

Mine was hosed high to begin with and waves have not been the cause.
