Has anyone with a 32 ever had a stainless steel bar welded in place between the rudder and the bottom of the keel?
I sail on the Chesapeake and worry about the lines from crab pots fouling the props. I have snaged several crab pots on the keels and have been lucky so far that the line has not made it up to the props.

rudder protection
I don't need to worry about crab pots in my area but I do get weeds around the rudder post so I have given some thought to the issue. You can not weld a rod to the keel as the keel is fiberglass however you could attach a diverter bar with epoxy however it is a long span from the keel to the rudders and I doubt that a long rod would stand up. You might get some protection with fiberglass rods extending back a bit from the keel but I would not try spanning to the rudders.
