All,
We were hit by another boat last night while we were tied up to the dock at Southport Harbor Marina in lower NC. The damage was fairly limited and only our starboard side hand rail leading up from the aft steps appears to be hurt.
My question is how do I inspect the inside area that the aft rail mounts to? There is no visible means of access to the area. Short of drilling holes in the ass end of the boat, how am I supposed to see what damage may have been caused?
Any help is most appreciated and as always, thanks in advance.
Regards,
Tom

Re: Aft Hand Rails
Tom,
When we were hit by Hurricane Charlie we had similar damage. We had to cut inspection plate in the stairwell sides in order to reach the nuts and backing plates. Not the best answer, but it was the only one available.

Re: Aft Hand Rails
It did allow better access to drain (pump) those compartments.
