docking

I am docking a PDQ 36 along a dock, bow in, dock on starboard side, with the
wind mostly from shore, & aft pushing the vessel away from the dock
I have the ability to set up dock lines that can be easily picked up since its
my permanant slip
Can any experienced Captains suggest the best set up. I also single hand at
times
Thank You

One basic method that has helped us just to get to the dock (and then we set all
of the regular dock lines) is to grab a permanent spring line off of the dock
and hook it amidship. With this and the right combination of rudder and engine
(although we're backing in), the boat will come right into the dock. Since there
is no cleat amidship, we've used a large snaphook to one of the large U-bolts.
