propellers for the Yanmar engines on the 36 LRC

Hi from Richard and Gale Slates of Sparky II ,hull #69 36 ft. LRC. Question. Has
anyone had any experience with better cruising propellers? Our LRC came equiped
with Volvo Penta 16x11 two bladed props.Under average conditions we cruise at
6.5 to 7 knots with the engines turning at 2800 rpms. Any help would be
appreciated. We cruise in the Florida and the Bahamas area and also have
questions on refrigeration. Has anyone done anything for different than factory
installed. We get condensation on the mattress of our guest cabin bunk. We also
get a lot below the door. We plan to add insulation, but lose so much cold every
time we open the door.Help with any solutions you have. Richard did install a
highly efficient freezer in place of the nav seat and it can still be sat on
It's a little over 3 cu. ft. I love it. It only accumalated about 1 cup of water
when I defrosted it after returning from a month and one;half in 85 degree plus
heat.

We were wondering, are you considering selling your pdq? We'd like to know, if so, where you are located. Very interested in the pdq, but few to none on the market.

Re: propellers for the Yanmar engines on the 36 LRC
I have brass 2 blade propellers on my yanmar engines now. I was thinking about changing to alumium props ??? Or, since it seems like I motor more then sail when cruising I was thinking about 3 bladed props for more power and control. Any suggestion. Also suggestion on a good propeller manufactor in Florida, west coast.

Re: propellers for the Yanmar engines on the 36 LRC
I have a 3 Blade Maxi-Prop and aside from the time and effort to replace the bearings it works great. II the Max is a 1991 and I think this was installed by the original owner, so I may have been the 1st to rebuild it. We have a single Yanmar in the port hull, and it's been pretty decent for the few trips we've taken since owning the boat, about 1000 miles over the last 8 years.
What I like is that it's completely automatic and has good power in reverse. Parts are available for the rebuild and not too difficult to do.
Good luck!

I have been looking into the Urethane propellers built by Proformance Propellers. Has anyone had any experience with they????
