While we were out cruising for a week, and connecting and disconnecting the power cords daily, we had an arc that fried our 30 amp power inlet as well as a 50' power cord. I was able to get a Marinco Inlet, and when I got into the fried unit I found that the wires were twisted and had worn through causing the arc. I suggest that EVERYONE take their inlet apart and be sure that your wires are not wearing through. I intend to put some silicone around the back of the inlet to keep the wires from vibrating and arcing again.
Thank goodness this didn't start a fire. BTW these 50' power cords are not cheap
