These were installed on Phenix (32007) more than 10 years ago, now they are starting to crack and fall apart. I need to get new ones. I think it is the product by Davis Instruments (link and info below).

I probably should go get a rigging gauge, but does anyone know offhand what the diameter of the shrouds on the PDQ 32 are?

Actually, my surveyor suggested that we remove them (corrosion). You're better off without them.

What about preventing chafe on the main at the points where it lays on the shroud when set for sailing off the wind?

Also, I'm in fresh water, wonder if he'd have a different opinion in my case?

Yes, freshwater helps. Probably no issue.

Chafe? Not much, but it might help.

Sure, for fresh water it might help.

The rigging size is in the PDQ manual; there is a link to it on the right margin of my blog.

My Shrouds on Magic Time are 10 mm. The Rigg is the "Tall Rig"
I was looking for Shroud covers that the ID would be a little larger than the OD of the wire size ( in my case 10 mm)
I felt that if the cove could rotate as the battens slid across it, this should protect the sail from chafing on the shroud.
Good theroy but unfortunatly I have been unable to find anything except covers that were tight on the 10mm.
I ended up reinforcing the batten pockets ( where they had woren threw the dacron ) with a very heavy dacron fabric tape (it is about 1/16 thick)
This will have to do untill I find a better alternative.
