LRC engine latch
LRC engine latch
After years of trying to stop the leaking Perko latch on the engine hatch including several replacements, greasing and re-bedding to no avail I stumbled across a replacement latch that I believe will stop the leaks. I found it at a consignment shop in Rockland Maine. There is no brand stamped on it but it is high quality. I had to enlarge the hole to 2 3/8" and make a backing spacer to fit it. The link is http://www.marineconsignmentmaine.com/ . I have attached a photo for reference. I know there were a few more on the shelf. I have no interest in the shop- just thought I'd pass it along as I'm sure other LRC owners have had the problem.

Re: LRC engine latch
Hey Bob,
I have the same Perko hatch latches that PDQ used, on our personal boat. A few years ago I came across a latch cover made Perko that fits well and keeps all the weather out of the lock set. The Perko model # is 1089 and comes in black or white plastic.
Hope this helps
