Crossing Miami to Bimini

Post by bjgin »

Looking for a good day to cross the Gulf stream from Miami to Bimini. If anyone sees a good day, please text me at 407-921-6612.

If you haven't already done so I would suggest that you download the mobile App called Windy. On it you can see various weather models and predictions for wind speed, wave heights and swells for any location.

Right now Saturday looks really good from Miami to Bimini - very light wind, 2 foot waves, and 8 second period (European model). GFS model shows 1 ft waves.

The attached picture is from a slide that Dick Tuschick presented at the PDQ owners gathering this year. It shows some awesome criteria for good, OK, and no-go weather specific to the PDQ.
