partner and i are currently looking at both mono hulls and cats; the PDQ 36 has
caught "the one who is in controls'" eye!(my wife)

we found your web site and have read many of the posts trying to answer some of
our questions, but still have many. we intend to live aboard and cruise coastal
waters and short "island hoppin" for a while

i am most interested in knowing; If you could change something(s) about your
boat what would they be?
hope to join you soon and thank you in advance for your response.

Not much. We kept lists of what we wanted and didn't want for about 10 years ,
including 3 years of owning another cat and 7 years of chartering, so we pretty
much knew what we wanted when it came time. I remember telling the salesman that
I was able to get virtually everything in the Capella. We spent quite a bit of
time on the options to get it the way we wanted. Also we visited some other PDQ
liveaboard owners to get their thoughts, which helped

That said, if I could do it differently, i would:[/i]

1) spend a lot more time in Whitby with the commissioning, and not leave until
everything was ready

2) the aft cabin is too small for a 3rd couple
3) I never use the nav seat and there is a lot of wasted space on that side

With very little change, I think a crew bunk could be substituted and would
better suit my needs. (lots of kids)

4) I have not yet used the cockpit cushions, so I could have saved their
expense. Guest sit on the stern arch

5) the reverse cycle heater is not effective when the water temp is really cold.

6) the air conditioning ducts should be extended to the head and aft cabin

7) Every time I use the radar/chartplotter, I wish I had gotten the larger,
color screen

8) I am going to add some solar-powered exhaust fans in the cabin-top hatches to
help cut down on the heat build up

That's about everything I can think of. It is really a great boat. Have fun.
