I find the 9.9 Yamaha's difficult to keep in sync and very very noisy at anything above four knots. Could it be the rubber mounts? Engines need service? Or what?

They are regrettably rather noisy. Once out of the marina I prefer to run one engine only which is quieter although a bit slower.

I suspect better vibration mounts and sound deadening materials would help a bit but I haven't had a chance to try anything on my boat yet.

Tom, I have installed Tempo rubber cushions on the transom mounts. This helps a little but not convinced its worth the cost and effort. I wonder if some soundproffing material under the access hatches might help?
