Has anyone made or purchased a "canvas" winter cover for a PDQ?
The fee for shrinkwrap in my yard is about $600, and that comes close to the cost of materials for a vinyl laminated dacron cover. I have a Sailrite clone walking foot machine and have done a number of small projects, so I'm not afraid of trying but don't want to waste a lot of time and money. I'm looking for advice on the design, such as the height of the ridge (I'm in Boston so it has to handle some snow), frame materials (pvc pipe?), and general feasibility.
Any advice, including "you're out of your mind", appreciated.

Question...This is my first year owning a vessel that requires "outside layup". Is snow really that damaging to a fiberglass boat? I live in the mid atlantic area and we get maybe 24" average per year. So what is the big advantage in wrapping the whole boat. Spring cleanup?
