Mainsail tell-tails
Having just bought some tell-tails, I would appreciate advice from our more performance oriented members as to where to place them. Regards, Alex Kehayes
Alex:
CRUISING HANDBOOK by Nigel Calder has excellent information (albeit only 3 pages) on using telltales. He suggests three on each side. "...One near the base of the sail, one about halfway up, and one near the head."
There is a good drawing on how to "read" them and make appropriate adjustments the position of the car on the traveler.
If you don't have the book please email me.
